Student Impact Stories

Komal Kunwar, C'19

Kathmandu, Nepal

None of the things I've had the privilege to do during the past four years at Sewanee would have been possible without the generous support of donors. Four years ago, I moved to a mountain in a country that I had never been to. Since then, I have learned from the best, traveled, overcome challenges, made friends who have become a new family, and lived so much that it feels like a lifetime. With experiences that make me who I am today and with the confidence to take on the next steps, I leave this place knowing I have found an everlasting home.

The variety of experiences, coursework, and friendships I have been fortunate enough to experience at Sewanee have heightened my love for learning, and that has been Sewanee's greatest gift to me. I know that Sewanee's gifts to me would not be possible without the generous support of the University's loyal benefactors. My academic and extracurricular successes have consistently aligned with my passions, and this is only possible because Sewanee's donors care about sustaining and supporting the wonderful things that are happening on this mountain.
